Testing

Testing Practice
Testing by itself does not improve quality, but testing that is well planned and focused, combined with a good understanding of the concepts and the application behind, will ultimately result in quality Software.

Testing Center of Excellence:

A Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) is a centralized testing organization that services all domains in the enterprise. It is a one-stop shop for Quality Assurance and Deployment needs of business organizations. Today’s comprehensive testing practices go beyond the “final” process of in-house “proofreading” of written codes. It is a critical process and stretches itself through a product lifecycle. TCoE can be called as a change agent, which drives optimization in the organization. Through the use of a TCoE, enterprises can create consistency in application quality, improving service and user satisfaction. The TCoE serves as an internal “outsourcer” providing services to groups that require quality assurance services. Alternatively, it can serve in an advisory role to testing groups that remain distributed throughout the organization. In either case, efficiencies are gained in the development of standards, practices, and testing procedures. Toolsets can be purchased once and used across the firm, although specific usage of testing tools may vary according to application needs. The TCoE provides:

  • A consistent software testing approach that can reduce the time and cost of managing testing programs
  • A set of test building blocks and repeatable methodology to increase efficiency and allows for customization and enhancement
  • Metrics which provide integrated tracking and the foundation for continuous testing improvement
  • Testing Center of Excellence (CoE), consolidated in 2014, focuses on improving business performance and optimizes enterprise applications by offering Independent Validation and Verification Services to its customers.

The Application Testing Services (ATS) at ARSGS aims to provide cost-effective, end-to-end, independent, high quality, quick turnaround testing solutions with the right mix of offshore-onsite, to our customers.

“The Testing process performed in a manner that is better organised and more fruitful will ultimately result in quality software.”

    Why do you need it?

IT users are now more demanding and expect that the products that they buy are rigorously tested and certified for deliverables. As software users become certificate-conscious, developers are queuing up to use the services of independent software testing (IST) service firms.

Like corporate’s that encourage consulting firms to assess their business plans or management practices, software companies too seek the opinion of third-party testers on the quality of their software products. IT users, on the other hand, engage IST firms to ensure that they are buying exactly the product that they need. Users go by certificates to know how effectively new products will integrate into their existing infrastructure.

    Strategic Benefits:

  • Economies of scale: CoE’s have an infrastructure built to facilitate management of various teams and by utilizing this in-built infrastructure, the cost is shared across all the accounts leading to significant cost savings on the long run
  • Catalyst: Companies invest a phenomenal amount in solving the remote team management issue and hence manage these issues cost-efficiently
  • Specialist resources are present to help manage peak periods within a project lifecycle or to fill specific skill gaps within an existing team including provision of an experienced and cost-effective mentoring service to enhance in-house capability.
  • Creating experts with an optimal number of QA tools and technologies and domains
  • Development of information and a knowledge base, which will be helpful in future engagements
  • Greater operational efficiency and consistency of workforce
  • A research report says that 46% of the cost savings come from internal process improvement, 45% from execution and 9% from the employee cost. This helps the firm on a long run
  • Industry recommended practices and standards
  • Trust, which is evident from the set of clients we are working with and the relationship we share with them over the years
